As a onetime elected official, I was asked this question recently by another official. How does our country balance protecting both sides’ rights and limiting freedom of speech under certain circumstances and conditions?
My answer follows: There is no balance anymore. That evaporated years ago, and we are left with the virulent, partisan hatred that exists today. The very people who are asking about how they should provide balance propagated that hatred and use it to manipulate us. No one is trying to protect the rights of either side. Critical thinkers can see the obvious.
The Department of Justice has been weaponized to ignore crimes committed by privileged government officials who flash their “get out of jail free card”, and instead, send the FBI to harass mothers who go to school board meetings and protest LGBT drag queens dancing in front of their seven-year-olds. All but two mainstream media outlets parrot the same talking points as they extol the virtues of left-wing policies from one side of their mouths, while they demean everything conservative from the other side of their mouths.
Municipal prosecutorial policies now allow recidivists to leave the courtroom without bail yet lock up people for 20 years who exercised their right to protest at the capital on January 6 by calling it what it was not, an insurrection attempting to overthrow the government. Drug dealers and killers walk free; protestors go to prison. All this happens while we sit by, drooling like imbeciles as we watch ethics and morality crucified by so many of our feckless leaders and their judicial minions.
Homosexuality, the precipitation of gender identity confusion in six-year-olds, and sex change operations on children have been elevated to sainthood, while speaking your mind against this sick child abuse and perversion is called depravity and anti-American. They fling these insults in our faces, call us racists, and homophobes, then have the colossal audacity to ask how the government is going to protect free speech? Are they asking how this out-of-control and unethical government is going to promote balance and fairness? The answer is as absurd as the question, especially in the face of government overreach.
There is no such thing as freedom of speech if people cannot speak freely. Of course, you cannot scream fire in a crowded theater. That is insanity, will cause people to be trampled and is prosecutable, but God help you if you dare call attention to the conspiratorial nature of government officials as they commit fraud and line their pockets with graft and money from lobbyists. You are chastised and labeled a kook and conspiratorial theorist for simply speaking your mind and asking questions. All of this is propagated by the powers that be to intimidate us and finish destroying the intellect of an already dumbed down population.
The above question is another piece of propaganda intended to convince us that the government is our friend and is attempting to protect our rights when every single Executive Order and law that is passed deprives us of more rights every day. The government gets to define the circumstances and conditions of free speech, and then chastise and even prosecute those who speak freely.
Both political parties constantly scream how the other party is about to destroy democracy, while they constantly and incrementally push America towards the edge of the cliff by all the things mentioned above. The question is a joke. Let’s ask Joseph Goebbels, the propaganda minister of Adolf Hitler, for his thoughts…
“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.”
“Propaganda works best when those being manipulated believe they are acting on their own free will.”
“If you repeat a lie often enough, people will begin to believe it and you will even come to believe it yourself.”
“Accuse the other side of exactly what you are guilty of.”
“A lie told once is a lie. A lie told a thousand times becomes the truth.”
“You can’t change the masses. They will always be the same: dumb, gluttonous, and forgetful.”
This is the precise tipping point on which this once great country is perched. The mediocrities in charge have convinced the majority of us that government overreach is not only acceptable, but it is the Holy Grail of societal evolution and fairness by demanding we willingly submit while they thrust us into oblivion.
